 Always establishing networks with new and prospective clients and industry associations, Jim’s dedication and entrepreneurial spirit has driven our sign company forward for over 15 years. Jim's outstanding work in this area was recognized when he was named the 2006 Business Member of the Year by the Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE). Before he entered the sign business, Jim spent 20 years as a management accountant. He enjoyed the work, but wanted to be his own boss and work in an environment where he could help grow a business based on his creativity and entrepreneurial skills. In 1992, with the help of his good friend Craig McConnell, he opened the Ottawa franchise of Vinylgraphics Custom Sign Centre – the predecessor to today’s Miller McConnell Signs. Born and educated in Montreal, Jim has a B.A. from Sir George Williams University, a Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from McGill University and an M.B.A. from Concordia University. Over the years, he has attended numerous sales training and general management courses from a variety of organizations, including the Canadian Management Association (CMA) and the American Management Association (AMA). In his down time, Jim enjoys golfing and spending as much time as possible at his cottage near beautiful Bon Echo Provincial Park. He currently lives in Nepean and is the proud father of two twin daughters who live in Montreal. |
